let us not forget devin harris' fantastic defense against guards like jason kidd, tony parker, and (to a lesser extent) stevie nash. let us not forget every postgame press conference where avery talks nonstop about "this system" and how someone fits "this system" and how "the system" is affecting them etc.

to lose the man that runs his system is a show that hsi system isn't working and he has given up on it. i think this deal is a result of the bad roadtrip and spur-of-the-moment panicing. when you drop players like this in midseason, it's a show of weakness and panic. this team can win in the playoffs. and if we can't, it's on the coach, not the guard.

Thank whatever god you believe in for George putting a veto in so far. Of course this probably will result in re-negotiation. Fuck you Mavs for trying to get rid of most of your team only because your so fucking impatient for an NBA championship that you're going to sacrifice your most valuable players (with a whole hell of a lot of room to grow on top of what they've accomplished thus far and could potential be the making of a dynasty) for fucking Kidd. Are you serious? What a sweet little sports history story this will make. Kidd starts out with the Mavs and then retires with the Mavs (because you know he will - he's past his prime) and then you'll go back to a team who has severe anxiety problems and suck like those of the 80's and late 90's.
